TECH SUPPORT INTERN
Typical Requirements:
Current CUNY registered student
Available to work part-time 19 hrs/week
Authorized to work under INS laws for on-campus jobs
Able to pass a criminal background check
Typical Work Responsibilities:
Conduct hardware/software maintenance on T1 and wireless networked desktop/laptop computers and printers in school tech lab, classrooms, library computers & library system, administrative computers throughout building.
Deliver to adults/students mini-computer lab lessons (e.g. how to use MS Word, Excel, and attaching files).
Work w/select vendors to determine best, cost effective and efficient systems.
Maintains technology equipment inventory
Creates and maintains systems for laptop distribution and usage
Works with DOE Help Center to troubleshoot repair issues as needed
Maintains desktops (new and existing)
Maintains schools servers
Maintain schools webpage
Interfaces with building tech team to resolve/address building related technology issues
Collaborates with teachers to provide support with infusing technology in classes
Typical Skills:
Full knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and related software
Some web programming skills
Excellent communication skills
Interest in working with/around students
Ability to multi-task, work efficiently, communicate clearly
Ability and willingness to learn and to teach
Typical Pay Rate:
$12 per hour
