NYSSA - 2006/2007 Investment Research Challenge

Dear students:

You have reached the home page for the New York Society of Securities Analysts Investment Research Challenge. Baruch College has been invited to field a team of 5 students for the 2006/2007 competition. The competition will take place in the Fall and Spring semesters. Student teams for 8 different colleges will:

To select the Investment Research Challenge team for Baruch, we are asking that all interested students fill out an application (see link below) and submit a 500 word essay on the following topic:
"Tell us how you envision your participation in the NYSSA Investment Research Challenge furthering your progress toward your professional goals."

All Baruch undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. However, the following minimum qualifications must be met:

  1. Students must have taken (or be currently enrolled in) the FIN 3710 (undergraduate) or FIN 9783 (graduate) Investment Analysis courses in the Zicklin School.
  2. Students must be enrolled in the Fall 2006 semester and plan to be enrolled in the Spring 2007 semester. Students graduating in December, unfortunately, may not participate.
  3. Students may not currently be employed as professional research analysts or by firms that perform this service.
  4. All participants must attend workshops including:

If you do apply and meet the above criteria, please make arrangements to attend the Research Report Writing workshop (When announced). The workshop location and registration materials will be shown above.

An internal panel of Baruch faculty and professionals will rank the student applications and contact the top ranked individuals to schedule one-on-one interviews by the third week of November.
